Many gyms, scales and medical forms outside the US use kilograms for weight but feet and inches for height. The form below accepts exactly that combination: weight in kg, height in ft + in. The calculator converts your height to centimetres internally and uses the standard WHO formula.
How the calculation works
For a 75 kg person who is 5 ft 9 in (175.26 cm) tall, BMI = 75 ÷ (1.7526 × 1.7526) = 75 ÷ 3.072 = 24.4 — inside the WHO healthy band. The kg + ft/in form uses the same numbers as kg + cm, just expressed in the height units you prefer.
Switching to other unit forms
You can switch to kg/cm, lb/ft+in or lb+in at any time using the toggle at the top of the calculator. Your current values are carried across the swap, so a kg+ft/in reading becomes a lb+ft+in reading in one click.
